COOPER Formula Junior T56 Mk 2 1961

The Cooper Formula Junior T56 MK2 car number FJ-12-61 offered here at Autostorico 1961 example finished in Blue with White stripes.

Purchased in 1961 by the Rev-EM Team of America from Cooper Works Surbiton, the T56 is fitted with a BMC 1098cc engine with a Esra-Knight Citroen 5 speed gearbox.

The car was part of the Rev-EM team during 1961-192 which consisted of Timmy Mayer, Peter Revson of the Revlon cosmetics dynasty, Bill Smith Jnr and managed by Teddy Meyer.

The car was raced during the 1962 season by Timmy Meyer winning the Formula Junior National SCCA Championship. Timmy later went on to become the first driver to be signed to McLaren.

The car has had continuous racing history having raced successfully in USA, Europe, including Monaco Historic, UK, Australia and New Zealand.

The previous owner spared no expense in preparing and running the car. The car is in excellent condition and is ready to race.

Her last outing was at Silverstone Classic in 2024. Since then, the car has formed part a private collection along with another number of other historic race cars.
